1818: Rond 1740 zochten de prinsbisschop van Luik en de Raad van State in Den Haag contact met elkaar om het in 1712 gestarte initiatief van de Luikse prinsbisschop voor de aanleg van de steenweg tussen ‘s-Hertogenbosch en Hasselt nieuw leven in te blazen. Pas in 1818 werd de weg in gebruik genomen.
